Hello, families! Sorry for the lack of news these past weeks. Report cards can take up more time than you anticipate, so I apologize if you're feeling out of the loop. Let me catch you up on a few important details.
Report cards came home Friday and I realize there are some noticeable changes for the grade 4s. This is the year where they flip from the early elementary scoring rubric of ET, ME, PR, BE and IN to more traditional letter grades. Unfortunately, these are not as friendly to see. The letters correspond to the same meanings (PR = C), so please do not be alarmed if you see some of those on your child's report card. Each year the standards get a little more challenging, so seeing as we're still at the start of the year, most children will not be meeting or exceeding these expectations yet!
This week and last, we were busy wrapping up a few things to prepare for reporting time. We are also busy prepping for our upcoming field trip to Agribition this week. Thank you to those who volunteered to come along. A note will come home for you on Monday with a bit of important information you might need for Wednesday.
This week our grade 3s begin their swimming lessons. Remember to send your child dressed in his/her swimsuit with a change of clothes and a towel. We are still looking for one more volunteer, preferably male, to supervise in the change rooms. If you have an up-to-date Police Record Check and are able to spare a few hours on any of the mornings we go, please let me know. We would be so grateful to have you!
Thank you for a wonderful first term. I look forward to meeting with each of you Friday to discuss your child's accomplishments.
Upcoming Important Dates:
November 25 & 27 - Grade 3 Swimming Lessons
November 26 - Field Trip to Agribition
November 27 - :Library Book Exchange
November 28 - 3-Way Conferences - No School for Students
