Sorry for the lack of posts this past week. Report card season is a busy one, so I apologize for not being able to squeeze in time to post. Here is a fresh question for the weekend:
What parts of your book seemed the most believable or unbelievable? Why? Make sure to tell us what you're reading and to use complete sentences when answering! Happy reading!

Find a character in your book that reminds you of yourself. How are you alike? How are you different? I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!
Happy reading! The title is a very important part of a book. It is the first thing a reader reads when they choose a new story. Why do you think your author chose the title that they did for the book that you're reading? If you could, would you change the title? Why or why not?
Happy reading! Making movies in your mind is an excellent strategy readers use to visualize what the author is describing. Finish this sentence with a mind movie you created while you were reading, "When I was reading, the author's words made me visualize _____________." Be sure to share a few words from the book to help us visualize too.
Happy reading! Summarize what your story has been about so far. Use your own words! You can refer to your book for help. Please write 3-5 sentences or more.
Happy reading! Find an interesting word in your book and tell us what it means. Then write your own sentence using your new word! Remember, interesting words are words you have never heard before but don't include names or places.
Happy weekend reading! Pick one character from your book. Tell us how this character interacts with the other characters in the book? For example, how does your character treat others? Give at least two examples from the book to support your thinking.
Happy reading! Hello, 3/4s! I have noticed that nightly reading responses have been a bit of a stretch for most of us so I am going to adjust to twice per week to give everyone an opportunity to answer the questions each week. I am planning for Tuesdays and Fridays, so be sure to get on here a couple of times in between to check in with us and share what you're reading. I am really enjoying all of the responses and positive interaction!
Here is your weekend question: describe two predictions that you have made while reading your book. Explain what was happening in the book that made you predict these things. If you are just beginning a new book, make a prediction based on the cover and the title. Don't forget to tell us what you're reading! What has been your favourite part of your book so far? Explain why it's your favourite part in three or more sentences.
Happy reading! Sorry tonight's question is coming so late! I volunteered at the cross country meet after school today so I had to leave right away to get to Douglas Park.
Tonight we want to know what characters you've met in your book so far. Tell us the names and something interesting you know about them. Happy reading! *Since last night's post came out so late, it will also serve as your weekend post so everyone has a chance to answer! |
